The Chinese have appreciated tea for centuries. The three main
categories of tea are, Unfermented Tea (or Green Tea which has
been popularised by the Japanese) and can be eaten raw, Semi-
fermented Tea of which China is most famous for and is the most
common "regular" tea found in most Chinese restaurants and tea-
houses, and the Fully Fermented Tea which has a deep reddish
colour and because of its strong taste, is only appreciated by
those who enjoy its bitter tasting flavour.

Chinese tea drinking is usually done plain, without the addition of
sugar or milk. It is served piping hot and proper tea appreciation
starts not from the first sip, but from the first smell of the aroma
from the teacup.

< Unfermented Tea (Green Tea) >
- Pi Lo Chun
- Long Jin
- Roasted Tea

< Semi-fermented Tea >
- Oolong Tea,
- Tia Guanyin (Ti Kuanyin)
- Pu Erh
- Water Lily (Shui Xian)
- Jasmine Tea (Xian Pian)
- Black tea
- White tea

< Fully Fermented Tea >
- Red Tea

I live in SW Ontario, Canada and would like to find info about a loose leaf green tea I was recently given by my TCM doc. She said that her husband had just brought it back for her from Beijing, China which is where they hail from originally. All she said to me was that it was an expensive green tea and shared one bag for me to try at home with I assume, enough loose leaves inside for one person to make a pot of tea. The only English writing on the label are the words 'Bixian Beauty' on one line with the words 'Coloured Scented' directly below that line and then the word 'Tea' on the line below that. The weight is shown in Chinese characters with :3 g at the end. There is a lot more Chinese writing on the label but unfortunately I cannot read it. There's a website shown too...
http://www.yctea.com on which I was able to read some via Google Translation but was unable to find this particular tea there although of course I could have missed it.
Any assistance in this regard is most welcome and appreciated:-)
Blessings,
Mare
